Fetures by Screen: Video Manager
Video Manager
This brand spankin' new feature allows you to upload tons of different video file types, including raw (as in, straight off your camera!) video footage directly to OfficeAutopilot AND we'll even encode those videos to the correct format for online streaming! Not good enough you say? Alright, how about the fact that we'll even transfer them to Amazon s3 (storage) and host them on Amazon's CloudFront CDN (delivery), heck we'll even let you stream the videos via RTMP (which means you can fast forward all slick like)! Still not enough hmm? Alright, try this on for size, we've even made it dead simple to place those videos onto your landing pages within OfficeAutopilot, OR ONTO WORDPRESS SITES using our PilotPress Plugin! Oh...and these vids will play seamlessly on your people's iPhones and iPads so they can devour your vids on the go.
It's alright, go ahead, take a second and let that soak in.
*IMPORTANT NOTE*: All of the above is being offered to our beloved clients for free, for now. We're assuming that we'll eventually need to pass along the cost of bandwidth usage.
The step-by-step on video hosting and usage
- First things first, get out that camera, plug it into your computer and get your video files off of there.
- Once you've got your video footage readily available on your computer you'll want to pull up the admin section of your OfficeAutopilot account and click on the new 'Video Manager' link.
- In the top right corner of the video manager there should be a button for 'New Video', click it.
- Now you'll want to set the name of this video and browse your computer to find it and select it, once you've got the name and file selected click the 'Upload' button.
- Once the upload is complete you should see your video in the 'Video Manager' screen.
- Go ahead and click over to the 'Pages' tab of your account and open up a 'New Landing Page', this tutorial is going to cover how to use the videos in the 'Easy Pages' Landing Page editor.
- Click on +New Item in the layers bar.
- Click that fancy new layer type at the bottom called 'Video'.
- From the drop down you should see your video as you named it when you uploaded it, choose it and hit the 'Select' button.
- Check out the new options when you have a video layer selected, they include: Skin, Autoplay, and Viral features. Skin allows you to select the way your video player actually looks (or doesn't look, should you chose hidden). Autoplay allows you to set the video to play automatically as soon as the page is loaded by a visitor. And Viral features allows you to turn on or off the ability for your visitors to share this video via E-Mail, or various social networking options (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.), they can even pull embed codes from this option so that they can place your video on their own pages.
- Save your page, view your page, enjoy your page!
